Cass joins me in the studio for a short and sweet episode full of lots of good stuff - just like her! We talk about how staying organised helps her mental health, the key thing to do after leaving a long relationship and the importance of not giving up (even after 24 attempts)! The advice Cassie gives us for her 18 year old self is bloody good too. This was an awesome episode to record and I loved having Cassie in the studio with me. Hope you guys love it!

A QUICK CHAT

Monday Apr 03, 2023

Monday Apr 03, 2023

Hi team!
As you can see from the title, today is not the scheduled NSQ. In short, I will be taking a quick break over the Easter holidays/school holidays to regroup and sort some stuff out. Longtime listeners will know about my dog Neddo who struggled with Lymphoma for the past year. By the time this episode is released, I will have said a very hard goodbye to my best mate. To take care of myself and make sure I'm giving you guys the best content I can, this break is very needed.
Thank you so much for the support team. It means the bloody world to me. Can't wait to be back and better than ever at the end of April.

Today we have Zach in the studio! Zach is an absolute legend and just an all round good egg. We cover SO MUCH in this episode. Zach speaks about the difficulty he has with opening up to people close to him and the way he has tackled with the idea that he can 'figure it out on his own'. We talk about the road less travelled and how Zach worked his way up through the ranks to where he is today (in the most unconventional way possible, btw). Zach also shares the struggle him and his wonderful partner went through last year, experiencing a miscarriage. We discuss the importance of being there for your mates and opening up the conversation. I can't thank Zach enough for coming on and being so open and honest with me. Hope you guys bloody love it! Enjoy!
We also add to the HYH playlist which can be found HERE!

**Trigger warning: There is discussion of miscarriage throughout this episode.

Today we have the wonderful Leigh in the studio! A fellow teacher friend and an all round bloody legend. The Saturday after this was recorded, Leigh packed up his life and headed to Adelaide to live with his long-term partner. We talk about how he's feeling about this big change, the (new and different) things he does for his mental health, and the last time Leigh felt proud of himself. Leigh talks a lot about the gratitude he has for his family and his mates and how important it is to let people know they're appreciated. I loved this chat. I hope you do too! Enjoy team!

Today we have Jayden in the studio. Jayden is my cousin/not cousin who I have known since he was born! Now 20 years old, Jayden was one of those people who experienced harsh Melbourne lockdowns during his final years of schooling. We talk all about the effect this had on his mental health, the importance of having mates you can lean on and how great it is to be able to experience all those shared memories post covid. Thank you so much to Jayden for coming in and being so vulnerable with me today. I hope you guys enjoy this one!

A bit of a different NSQ this week team! Today we are talking all about mosquitoes. They're one of the MOST annoying little insects about. If you've ever been drifting off to sleep only to hear that unmistakable buzz in your ear, YOU KNOW.
We learn some fun facts about mosquitoes, why they bite us, why we react to the bites and then go through 5 main reasons mosquitoes might bite you more than the person next to you (beer drinkers... listen up.)
A lot more research needing to be done in this space. But for now, enjoy!
