Hey team, here's a flashback episode!
Today we are going back in time to episode no. 1!!! The first ever episode! I always need to go back to re-learn certain topics and I thought this would be a great snippet to cover again.
In this episode we learn about how THC affects the brain. We talk about the 3 core components of the endocannabinoid system and how marijuana use can affect this system in the long term. We also touch on whether or not marijuana is addictive.
For free and confidential advice about alcohol and other drugs, call the National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline on 1800 250 015. For 24/7 crisis support regarding substance abuse, misuse or addiction, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Josh chats about the beautiful friendships he has in his life and how important his support network is to staying mentally healthy. He opens up about his struggle with anxiety and how, with the support of his family, friends and professional guidance, Josh was able to grow and learn from his experiences. We laugh a lot and we cover the serious stuff. I bloody loved this episode. A big thanks to Josh for being so open and vulnerable on HYH today. Hope you love it team!!

A QUICK CHAT

Monday Apr 03, 2023

Monday Apr 03, 2023

Hi team!
As you can see from the title, today is not the scheduled NSQ. In short, I will be taking a quick break over the Easter holidays/school holidays to regroup and sort some stuff out. Longtime listeners will know about my dog Neddo who struggled with Lymphoma for the past year. By the time this episode is released, I will have said a very hard goodbye to my best mate. To take care of myself and make sure I'm giving you guys the best content I can, this break is very needed.
Thank you so much for the support team. It means the bloody world to me. Can't wait to be back and better than ever at the end of April.

Today we have Zach in the studio! Zach is an absolute legend and just an all round good egg. We cover SO MUCH in this episode. Zach speaks about the difficulty he has with opening up to people close to him and the way he has tackled with the idea that he can 'figure it out on his own'. We talk about the road less travelled and how Zach worked his way up through the ranks to where he is today (in the most unconventional way possible, btw). Zach also shares the struggle him and his wonderful partner went through last year, experiencing a miscarriage. We discuss the importance of being there for your mates and opening up the conversation. I can't thank Zach enough for coming on and being so open and honest with me. Hope you guys bloody love it! Enjoy!
We also add to the HYH playlist which can be found HERE!

**Trigger warning: There is discussion of miscarriage throughout this episode.

Today we have the wonderful Leigh in the studio! A fellow teacher friend and an all round bloody legend. The Saturday after this was recorded, Leigh packed up his life and headed to Adelaide to live with his long-term partner. We talk about how he's feeling about this big change, the (new and different) things he does for his mental health, and the last time Leigh felt proud of himself. Leigh talks a lot about the gratitude he has for his family and his mates and how important it is to let people know they're appreciated. I loved this chat. I hope you do too! Enjoy team!
